About Us
Bluegrass livery is owned and managed by myself, Sara Trevelyan who has 30 years experience of keeping horses, both privately and at livery yards.  A passion for classical riding was sparked by a two year period living in Spain, as was the love of Spanish horses which led to the import of Divertido & Datil, both P.R.E. stallions (no longer entire and now enjoying each other's company!) into the UK.  These two horses have taught me more in the last 5 years than any other horse I have owned as their intelligence and strength of character is unforgiving of any mistake or mis-management.  Their co-operation can only be gained by trust and good, firm leadership skills and certainly not by force or fear.  I strive to treat every horse in my care with respect and as an individual and therefore manage their needs appropriately to ensure that they are happy and settled.

The aim for the new livery yard was to create an environment that encompasses all the best ideas and practices gleaned along the way in a great location, providing somewhere for owners to come and really enjoy their horse.  Having searched far and wide for the ideal site, the parcel of level land at Crowntown near Helston in Cornwall has been developed with much thought for both the welfare, safety and security of the horses and enjoyment of their owners.

Having an elevated position not only means open far-reaching views, but being well drained and breezy virtually eliminates fly and midge worry and the need for sprays, masks, hoods etc. etc...   Cornish hedging provides shelter and the solid post and electric rope fenced paddocks are a safe and secure environment for your horse and turnout can be in individual paddocks or as a pair, depending on your horses needs.  The pasture paddocks are convienently accessed and manure removal keeps them healthy and reduces the worm population, therefore benefiting the health of your horse.

Livery types available
We offer the following main options which include the charge for your stable, all year turnout/grazing, utilities, and use of all facilities.  It is not our policy to offer a low basic rate and then add on numerous, pricey 'hidden extras' once you've moved in!  Prices for any additional services we offer will be provided in writing, together with the yard rules BEFORE any agreement is entered into.  We are flexible and can tailor a package if the following do not match your requirements.
